Arabians - to take you to the Moon

Bluegrass Anticipation

 (Tristram Apparition x Bluegrass Filigree)

Jill and I are very pleased to announce the arrival of this beautiful mare, also known as "Grace", to our family through the generosity of Tamara Coakley, Tashinor Park.

Bluegrass Anticipation is 20 years young, the daughter of the 1984 Australian Champion stallion Tristram Apparition (Hansan* x Abelya). Even just focussing on the sire side of her pedigree you can appreciate the common links to our breeding program- introducing additional links to both Hansan* and Moon Kabala (through probably his most famous grand-daughter Abelya). Her dam Bluegrass Filigree (Desert Edlen x Nihal Phillipa) brings in even more Silver Moonlight* and Royal Domino* blood into our stud.

Few mares now can immediately make an impact on us. Grace did. She arrived on a transport whilst we were out, and the sight of her when we returned was impressive. The first thing that struck us (well second, the flea bitten coat had to be first!) when she was allowed to run was her movement... this is a mare that doesn't need to canter. When she wants to hurry up the trot just keeps getting longer & longer & longer... she covers ground as effortlessly as any horse we have ever seen.

"No dinner? See ya!" Grace leaving when there was nothing in it for her!

Reference Sire: Tristram Apparition (Hansan* x Abelya)

Bred by Peter Millard of Tristram Stud, Tristram Apparition represents the cross of a quality Egyptian bred sire Hansan* (El Hilal x Hamamaa) and one of the most beautiful Australian bred Crabbet mares, Abelya (Abyad x Aliya).

It really came as no surprise that this mating produced this colt, one that would go on to be the 1984 Australian Champion Arabian stallion. It also comes as no surprise that this stallion bred on exceptionally well with descendents throughout Australia and New Zealand.
