Naazim- Living on in the 21st Century

Whilst Naazim died in December 2003, through his descendents he will continue to exert a positive influence on Arabian breeding in both Australia and New Zealand for some time to come.

In Australia his children, grand-children and often great grand-children can be found competing at shows or doing endurance. They range in age from 3 into their 20s.

Through his son Pradaa* (Exp NZ) he is making many people very proud in New Zealand. While only just starting his stud career in Australia we are optimistic that Ivahri Golden Thorpe will prove just as successful a sire.

Here is a sample of Naazim progeny- not owned by Ivahri Arabians- that we believe either have, or will soon, demonstrate the value of Naazim to Arabian breeding.

Naazim descendents continue to be winners!!!

The T. Maaza (by Naazim) grand-daughter The Palms Uptown Girl was sashed 2005 East Coast Champion mare. This mare is by the stallion Maa'Zooz (WN Dasjmir* x T. Maaza) out of St Cloud Mona (T. Nadji x T. Monalisa).

In 2005 the Naazim grand-daughter Windemere Sar Monique (by WN Dasjmir* out of Moniet- pictured below) was the Champion Mare at the Pan-Pacific Championships and Reserve Champion at the Queensland Challenge show.

Moniet (Naazim x Flabys Sar Monisa*)

Moniet was one half of two beautiful sisters bred by Tanya Hawley. Her sister remains at Hawley Arabians and is well known to many horse lovers as the mare featured in Mitavite advertisements- the beautiful T. Maaza.

Both mares were out of Tanya's second imported mare, the beautiful Flabys Sar Monisa* (Imp USA).

Moniet may have been the less well known of the two, however she continues to exert an influence long after her death primarily via her well known son, Windemere Imperial Nadejni (by Barabas*).

Windemere Imperial Nadejni

(Barabas* x Moniet)

Windemere Imperial Nadejni is a Naazim grandson through the mare Moniet (x Flabys Sar Monisa). He was bred by Judy Legge and currently stands at stud in Queensland where he has been a successful show horse. He is a stallion Jill & I admire greatly.

Arina Naazan by Naazim

Arina Naazan was one of Naazim's earlier sons. He was bred by George Camilleri- a man who played a pivotal role in Naazim's life. His dam was a predominantly Crabbet mare, Cedrinus Anuket (Nikias x Shana).

Arina Naazan stood at stud for some years prior to his eventual gelding. He was a successful show horse including Australian Top 10.

Arina Naazan is still very much alive and residing on the mid-north coast of NSW with one of the youngest Naazim daughters, Windemere Sar Monaa.

Pradaa (Naazim x Greengrove Sascha*) Exp NZ

I bet many of our New Zealand Arabian lovers would not recognise this little sweety! This photo was taken at Greengrove Stud prior to his export to New Zealand. This sweet little fella has grown into a stallion of substance.

The Next Generation...

This proud fella is Bonni Paul's Pradaa son "Something Diabolical" (Pend). We love the name- because he isn't- and epitomises the proudness that this family of horses exudes.

Peppersfield Nabucco

The great Australian endurance gelding, Peppersfield Nabucco is a grandson of Naazim. His sire was the Silwan* son Cherokee Mecca and his dam Peppersfield Mustine (Naazim x Arabian Park Mustalina by Mustafa*). We believe that "The Biscuit" is one of the best examples of how a great Arabian can possess function and beauty without compromising on either. Special thanks to his owner & rider Terry Woods for supplying this photo.

Naazim's very last foal was this little lady: Naadjilla, bred & owned by Rebecca Hayes of Mittagong NSW.

The Mustafa* & Naadirah* families continue to prove people who believe Egyptian Arabians cannot be successful endurance horses WRONG... just because some Egyptian horses are purpose bred as halter horses does not mean they ALL are. Mustafa* continues to be one of Australia's major influences on endurance breeding.
