Arabians - to take you to the Moon
To Jill & I Naazim was a great mate as much as an Arabian stallion. We jokingly christened him Peter Pan... the boy who never grew up! He may have been a mature 22 years old when he came to live with us but Naazim was not a horse to let age or any other infirmity hamper his love of life.
To the rest of the Arabian world who knew him he was the master showman. From 1976 until his retirement from showing in 1995 he mesmerised spectators at shows, stud displays, and charity events with his dazzling looks and charisma. But this beauty wasn't shallow- his sound conformation saw him win major awards at many of the most prestigeous Australian shows. His qualities have been passed on to generations of descendents numbering more than 200 at last count.
He was the produce of one visionary Arabian breeder, Tanya Hawley, who discovered the beautiful young mare Naadirah* and mated her with the equally handsome young stallion Mustafa* to found a family of special Arabians that have become part of Australian Arabian history.

Naazim lives on at Ivahri through his son Ivahri Golden Thorpe (aka Thorpey) and his daughter Naajinska IVA.
Naazim's lasting legacy to the Arabian breed is the inspiration he gave to many to become Arabian horse owners. Many fellow breeders have told us of how Naazim touched them in a way no other Arabian did... he was a very special Arabian.
