Welcome to the Australian Arabian Crabbet Percentage Directory!

Ivahri Arabians are proud to host this service used by Arabian enthusiasts to research the percentage of Crabbet blood in the Arabian horses of today. We hope that this helps people better understand the significant influence the breeding program of the Crabbet Stud continues to have on Arabian horses across the world.

We hope that it is also of benefit to show organisers considering the inclusion of Crabbet classes. This list is regularly updated & horses included as we receive them. All registered purebred Arabians are welcome to be included- while the list is primarily for Australian bred Arabians, overseas horses are welcome as long as the pedigree can be verified by us.

Please feel free to email us in the event that you believe any data is incorrect- we aren't perfect & one of the benefits of the web is greater public scrutiny.

If something is wrong, we check it, we seek advice, and we fix it. 

We are currently going through all the request email on horses to be added to the list and updating the large databases.  The update should be up in the next couple of months (Winter is a time we get to catch up on the computer stuff).

How Do I calculate my Arabian's Crabbet %?

To work out your horse's Crabbet % the simple formula is:

Crabbet %= Sire's % + Dam's % divided by 2

If you don't see your horse's parents you can work out the parents' %s. Just keep tracing back through your horse's pedigree until you come across horses that appear in the list.

It would be great if you have a try at doing you horses % yourself.

If you email  by clicking the link  right for  Ivahri Arabians we can email you a worksheet you can use to do your % which has been set up so it will automatically calculate  once the pediree if filled out and the percentages for the horses entered.

Once you have had a go you can email the file back and we will check it for you and add your horse to the list.

Do you think a figure is incorrect?

Email us using the submission link shown above... we aren't perfect & this data can be wrong. We are confident that it is very accurate (more accurate than many sources) because we are constantly checking. Having the information on the web has also made it more widely checked. But please let us know if you think a figure is incorrect...

Just remember that different people manipulate the fractions differently- we don't round the figures at all (some people do). Rounding fractions can result in variations in the results- by all means round the final figure that you record but don't round the figures as you do your sums.
