The stallion Greylight* was bred by Lady Wentworth at Crabbet Park, sired by the great stallion Bright Shadow. His dam Royal Radiance* was purchased in foal by Mrs A.D.D. Maclean of Australia's Fenwick Stud, and pretty much from the time of his birth to the time he died more than 30 years later, he had an on-going influence on Australian Arabian breeding which shows no sign of diminishing today. His descendents, often with multiple lines to him, can most often be found in Victoria (his home state), but Greylight* can be found in the pedigrees of literally thousands of Arabians today.
Greylight* has the unique honour of having sired the only Australian Champion stallion of pure Crabbet breeding, Rasham.
His progeny are now much sought after, and his sons and daughters are becoming harder to find as time slowly claims them.
Ivahri Arabians are extremely fortunate to own a daughter, Heritage Mi-Gaylight. "Gaylight" was bred by Gudrun Martini, a former "head girl" at Fenwick, out of her Ivan daughter Heritage Mi-Gaiety (x Mimosa). Heritage Mi-Gaiety was a well-known show mare in her own right, having been an Australian Top 10 Champion mare in both halter and under saddle. "Gaylight" suffered an injury at a young age and was only successfully shown for a brief time before incurring the injury.
