The Boss.... Katie.

In 1987 Katie came into our lives as a 7 year old 7/8th part-Arabian intended to permit Jill to get back into the saddle again. Little did we know then that such a significant part of our lives would be influenced by this one mare.
Katie's sire was the great Royal Domino* son, Royal Gindi. Her dam, we believe, was an Anglo mare. At the time of her purchase she was purchased as a pet. At this time the thought of breeding Arabians had not come into our minds. Nevertheless, she was purchased in foal to a significant Crabbet stallion, the Spindrift* son Abdullah. Sadly the colt foal was lost in a paddock accident at a very young age. Since then her breeding career has been marked by tragedy, aborting the next foal prematurely (the sire was an imported Quarter Horse stallion in his early 30's), and the next (and last) foal was born with the umbillical cord around its neck. Fate can be cruel. Neither Jill nor I are overly concerned as Katie has been the Lead Mare of our herd since the very beginning & is the most "benevolent dictator" any stud could wish to have. A role model to the children and their protector against all threats. She is a very special mare.
Sahala Starlight Jade
(Talquah Jai x Talquah Adine)
Sahala Starlight Jade (aka Pippa) came to us in 1999. A mare of very special quality & breeding... her sire was the Royal Domino* son Talquah Jai (x Crown Jewel), and her dam was the Royal Domino* grand-daughter Talquah Adine (by the great Arim).
Sadly it appears that Pippa is the only one of Adine's daughters to be breeding on.
Pippa possesses the type for which the Royal Domino* descendents are reknowned, and possesses the motion for which this family is rarely bettered.
It is hoped that in the near future that Sahala Starlight Jade will become a very important 3rd piece of our stud's breeding program- the infusion of Royal Domino* blood with the Nazeer & Silver Moonlight* influence of Ivahri Golden Thorpe.
This "triple" cross is noted for its beauty & athleticism... and something to which our stud will strive.
A very prepotent stallion, Royal Gindi has stamped his mark on his progeny such that his offspring are often immediately recognisable. In a family of sons that includes such great stallions as Arim, Talquah Talik, and Domignon, his progeny will ensure that he is never forgotten.
