Heritage Silver Rain (AHSA S-5107) (deceased).(Ivan x Silver Sequin)
In the past decade many breeders have elected to
trade on the Silver Family name...
The Stallion Heritage Silver Rain epitomised the Silver family stallion... from the beautiful snow white coat most associated with the family to the masculine beauty for which this family is reknowned. He possessed the conformational integrity which makes this family sought after the world over. Lastly, he was kind and gentle natured, a trait that sets a great stallion above the good ones.
Bred by Gudrun Martini & Alby Glassford in Victoria, Australia in 1979, he spent most of his 21 years in Victoria only coming to us in 1995. By then he had already almost become unique... in a time when the fashion was for fine boned, firey show horses, "Silver" was a reminder of the past- when substance and temperament were still considered essential characteristics of a good stallion.
Now in 2007, some 8 years after his death, Arabian breeders are rediscovering this family of Arabians. Through his son & daughter his legacy lives on at Ivahri Arabians.
Reference Mare: Silver Sequin (Greylight* x Silver Reflection)
Reference Sire: Ivan (Silver Moonlight* x Bellona)
Reference Sire: Indian Magic (Raktha x Indian Crown)
Indian Magic, sire of the great Silver Moonlight* (x Silver Fire), continues to be an important influence in many Crabbet breeding programs. We can still see the influence of Indian Magic in the foals we breed today.
